Mission Personal Mission Plan |
Rollings Hills Moravian Church is a community of faith whose members know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; grow in faith, love and hope; and show the love of Christ to others in word and deed. "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandment hang all the law and prophets." "We are called into a Christian fellowship by the Lord Jesus Christ...and as members of Christ's body, the
Church, to serve all people by proclaiming the Gospel and witnessing to our faith by word and deed." "The Unitas Fratrum [Moravian Church] acknowledges its vocation to service...to bring the gospel to those
who are far from God." One of the great blessings and privileges of the Christian life is sharing in the mission of Christ:
This mission happens in our daily life in several areas:
These are our "mission fields". These are the places Christ puts us and the things he gives us to share the Gospel, to serve others, to make God's love known to everyone. The words on the Moravian seal are: "Our Lamb Has Conquered, Let Us Follow Him." We are called to follow, to serve, and to make him known in our daily living. Every day God provides opportunities to grow in our relationship to God and to share in Christ's mission. Each member is invited to make a specific "mission plan" to act on those opportunities each year. |
As disciples we are called to: "make disciples"To share our faith with non-believers, inactive Christians, or religious "seekers" in such a way (by word, deed, and living example) that they are attracted to or receptive to the Gospel, and, "love God"To deepen our relationship with God and express our love and commitment to God with our entire life (heart, soul, mind and strength). and, "love our neighbor"To demonstrate in concrete, visible ways the love of God in serving and helping others, especially thos in need.
